Much of professional life is spent communicating with others. Selling is convincing others to believe in what we do.

You DO believe in yourself and your product, don't you?

Among other things, marketing creates a need. Ideally, sales uses true facts to motivate a prospect in need to act. If we've correctly chosen the product we represent, our sales will generally close themselves. The most successful product is one your prospect needs now. Once you've honestly explained why, your sale will normally be assured.

Successful sales is basically fulfilling the self-interest of your prospect

Of course, when we choose what to sell, our quest must be for songwriter Guy Clark's "Stuff That Works".

Doing that eliminates most of the 'honesty toe-stubbers' in your sales career. It's pretty hard to sell soggy pizza without lying and ou sure won't get many repeat sales.

Sell for a lifetime, not just for today
